I've tried JRiver, MusicBee and Media Monkey.

The reason I did uninstall it is I now run a 4K monitor and it is not 4K aware and a bunch of icons are disproportionally small. I know I could run Winamp and I just stupidly uninstalled it and having trouble finding a safe mirror to down load from and a "Patch Kit". I know there are skins for FooBar2000 that can make it look Winamp-ish but I'm not sure it will have the smarts for items 2-4 above. Problem is FooBar2000 user interface is fairly dumb/flat. It will sniff the Flac's too and do the right thing. Now Foobar2000 is also top dog doing all the technical stuff "right". Winamp is smart enough to "sniff" the FLAC and do DTS, AC3 decoding etc. My Flac Library is setup for Logitech Media Server and Home Theater that can decode DTS, AC3 etc. I would often put it on Random Play until I hit an album I was in the mood for and I could right click play artist or album.ģ) I also liked it's ability Marking tunes with Stars, and History of number of times played etc.Ĥ) Winamp also did this without mucking up your source library (which I occasionally will clone from home to work). MP3, FLAC, DTS/AC3 Embedded in FLAC - Mixed Down, DSD Decoder or Pass ThroughĢ) User interface was exactly how I like to listen/browse. Tell me what you think below and/or some improvement suggestionsīest experienced by disabling Skinned mouse cursors btw.I am a long time Winamp user and I loved it for several reasons.ġ) It could play ANYTHING. Now with Windows 10 being out and almost everyone using it, it kinda became outdated rather quickly (I can surely imagine a few people still hanging tight on Windows 7), but I still wanted to share this one. I also inspired myself a little bit by Winamp 1.x, with the Clutterbar being seperated from the main display. I began to slowly copy and paste each window part of Wine to the Classic Winamp bitmaps in GIMP, of course improving over time. The inspiration came to me when I had wondered what Winamp would look like if it was drawn to the OS's theme (the other one's I had seen weren't nearly as good enough and didnt hit the theme correctly), and the only thing I had was my laptop with a broken Windows Vista install and I could only use Linux with Wine. I've just now updated it to be more fitting to WACUP, with all the text and even replacing the old logo with the new one.

Sadly, this is not a Modern Skin as I had previously planned (like 1 or 2 years ago maybe), so it's a classic skin for the moment being.
